Saturday, Our First Day Off?

A bunch of our Mission Builder friends headed off today on a twelve hour bus tour around the Island, I’m sure it would have been great to be with them and see the sights, but, Buckwheat and I thought it would be more restful and relaxing to take our time and go to Huggo’s On The Rocks (see pictures below), and then head over to our reading place, take four hours or so to read and look at our scenic view, then go to a movie by trolley, then take the same trolley to Target, yes, I said Target, for some shopping. But…the day didn’t go like that.
We had a great first stop at Huggos, but then the day went sideways, we reasoned that it would be best to head to the movies since the trolley thing is never on time, so we waited, and waited, and waited for the $1 trolley. The backpack I was carrying had a whole day’s supply, big camera, big beach blankets, big books, Buckwheat’s big water bottle, and many other big things. Bag heavy, waiting means standing, no bus benches, I thought about sitting on the ground but the physical difficulty of that would have been to obvious to the passer bys, people would have been -rushing over to help. So we stand and wait on bad knees, and two bad backs.
Movie was Secretariat, great movie. Carol cried and cried and cried, I didn’t. So, boys and girls, take those two testimonials for some man and woman identification on how this movie is.
Waiting for the trolley to go back homeward, twelve miles or so, trolley is surprisingly late…again. Trolley comes and takes forever to cover the normal rout, he stops, stops and stops too long and at too many odd places, me thinks he’s demented, he’s old and does this because he probably because he can’t work due to his bad knees, probably.
Trolley man is mean, probably because of his knees, let’s us off in a non-stop area, grumbling about something, no Aloha from this bradda.
Now we walk home, up the same steep street.
Unpack the big things and walk up an even steeper street to go to Wal-Mart, no trolley folly for Target. So we walk, then shop, then eat pancakes at Denny’s, then head down the even steeper street back home. We fall into our room and go straight to bed, it’s 8:00 P.M. and we sleep without even the smallest rustling until 6:30 in the A.M.
The week of hard work, coupled with the day off, has taking its toll.
Today is the Lord’s day, our group will go to church together, then go to the beach for snorkeling and stuff, this will be van and I’m not taking anything big, no standing, no waiting, no walking. The potential of this day is bright and filled with potential to meet God and bond with His people in this special place.
This is our favorite coffee/breakfast place. It's called "Huggo's On Th Rocks."

This is my favorite waitress, Buckwheat ordering our super, great coffee and breakfast on our first day off. Now, that's a view, Buckwheat in the Islands, Ono!

The man walking towards the tables is on the sand, all the tables are on a man made beach in the coffee shop, which is built on the lava rocks in the ocean. The water beats below. When you sit at your table your chair sinks in the sand and it's almost as low as sitting in a beach chair. You kick off your shoes and bury your feet in the cool shaded sand and have a feast man. A feast of Hawaiian fruit, bread, coffee and breakfast, Ono!

This is the feast for the eyes from our table at "Huggo's On The Rocks," you could stay here all day, a great place to recharge.
